Passion (Passiflora mollissima)

Passion is a fast growing vine, which finds its way up trellises and trees. There are over 400 species. The Passiflora mollissima or Banana Passion enjoys good soil in colder climates. Its distinctive flowers are bright red/pink and the fruit, as the name suggests, are yellow and banana-shaped. It flowers in milder climates throughout year. Some people prefer the Banana Passion fruit to the Passion fruit. It is gentler on the stomach, due to the lower fruit acid level.
